Mafeking is a town in dusty northern Cape of in South Africa. Mafeking is now known as Mafikeng as it was named by English colonists, and it literraly translates to"place of stones".

In 1899 Mafeking was a small town, and during the Anglo-Boer war Lord Baden Powel was surrounded together with his soldiers and citizens of the town. Lord Baden Powel managed to hold his position intelligently and with the help of young boys, who started what is known to us now as "Boy Scouts".
